BACK WITH A BANG!!!!
hmmmm....been a long,long time since i last updated my blog,but hey im back....i've jus been tagged,so i need to update my blog to earn some kinda respect,yes,that ever so little respect i deseve....mmmm,wot shall i rite?n i jus got a feedback saying no ones interested in football....so lemme try my hand at the game of cricket!!!!
though far from my favourite sport,it still deserves my views n criticisms in general....

THE GAME OF CRICKET
the game of cricket is played between two sides,each of 11 players....6 stumps with bails over them,3 on each side of a picth 22 yards long forms the wicket....the rest u know!!!!

so,i think i've given u a detailed look into the game of cricket,which shd be enuf to understand the rest of my blog....so,here we go!

THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD
the best team is undoubtedly australia....though they lost the ashes to the english side(currently doing their ugly rounds in pakistan,n still u guys think they're 2nd best huh!!),they still remain the team to beat....they have won,home n away,against any team thats existent,except i think kenya(did they tour kenya?),but thats ok,i guess....now,there are a few points to be looked into,b4 we actually land up with "the best team in the world"....the cricketing fraternity as such is very small....about 10 teams in all,with about 4 of them trying not to get relegated(but theres no relegation),but i think u know where im getting at!!they are minnows,not worth playing at the highest level....effectively,there are about 6 "ok" teams showcasing their talents every now n then....n to be the best team in the world according to me,is beating every team u play against,n australia have done that...no other team has come close n still we talk about "england equalling autralia"....n the height of stupidity reinvented would be rating "sri lanka the second best one day side"....!!!!the team that has beaten every other team(home n away) over the past coupla years deserves to be "the best side " n the team thats come close is the "second best"....n thats y australia r still the best....

THE PHYSICAL ASPECT
cricket is not a demanding game,in the sense it doesnt take its toll on every guy who plays,there could be days when dravid or sachin would be in the field doing nothing n still end up in the winning side....but they are expected to show the required fitness levels,levels which some of the others have redefined....they dont have to be a jonty or a ricky,but atleast they should be better than 10 kumbles or gangulys put together to claim a place in the team....n again,the south africans n the australians have given a new dimension to the game with their catching n direct hits....the athleticism they show is terrific,these are little things we forget,but its good to see "bhajji" dive n take a catch,it really is....indians under chappell have finally realized that cricket is not all about bowling n batting!!!!

THE BEST BATSMAN IN THE WORLD
this is my fav...."sachin tendulkar is the best batsman in the world" has become the mandatory answer from anyone who is put up with "whos the best batsman in the world?"....the sad part about cricket is that the ratings are "statistics based" in the sense that the person who scores the maximum runs is the best player....in no other game is this true....michael jordan is the best player ever to have set foot on the basketball court,but the most no. of points was scored by one Mr.Wilt Chamberlain....some guy from the iranian football team has scored the most no. of goals n hes the most capped player in the history of football,hes far from the best player in the world....the difference is that the above ratings are "performance based" unlike cricket.... n thats y i rate someone like mathew hayden,brian lara n our very own rahul dravid better than sachin simply because they have played more match winning innings than sachin....

BOLD BUT NOT BEAUTIFUL

Andrew Flintoff is a household name in england,second only to david beckham....the recently-made-up-star from the victorious english side released his autobiography "being freddie"....the book hit the stalls recently and has already sold a million copies...."freddie" chose to point his finger at the captain of the indian cricket team....the be-all of the indian cricket team was accused of complacency while playing for lancashire and was branded as "a difficult player to get along with"....not so long ago,in those good old times of indian cricket(compared to the present mournful state),freddie was a boredom and ganguly had already reached stardom....a couple of incidents took place,it seems that made freddie feel that ganguly was a complacent,egoistic and a difficult person to get along with....this could be true,no doubt....but my point of view is that freddie still a long way to go and this is a comment of a great magnitude,given the helpless state of ganguly....flintoff has just added a little fuel to the fire,and it would take ganguly to slam flintoff for sixes when the latter tours india to extinguish the "the little more fuel added fire"....the two have a great on field as well as off field rivalry,thanx to their humorous,ferocious,breath taking,SHIRT TAKING heroics,which any day,SALMAN KHAN would have been proud of....ganguly,the master of dancing-down-the-wicket sixes,has 10,000 ODI runs to his fame and flintoff makes a bold comment on ganguly....flintoff still has a long way to go,he has only played 90 ODI's and his bowling and batting averages would and could only be the envy of the bangladesh cricket side put together,n he makes a comment on ganguly????freddie,this is a comment that should be made after u go down as probably,one of the best all rounders of the game....save ur face n dont ever do a SALMAN KHAN in india for one priced wicket of a "genuine" tail ender....u have come a long way and u still have a long way to go.

WHO FRAMED GREG CHAPPELL?



It will be interesting to see who wins the battle between ganguly n chappell....i think with the so called "compromise" the BCCI has already won....a closer look at the speculation will tell u y BCCI had actually leaked the e-mail sent by chappell....The BCCI camp led by Dalmiya all along dint want chappell to be the coach,surely!!!!....it was sunny,shastri n kapil who selected the coach for the best-batting-line-up-on-paper,oh yeah the indian cricket team....ganguly no doubt has been a good captain for india....but it is true that he has shaped the team to suit his needs...."he fears the new ball",chappell pointed out,true!!!!he really is afraid of the new ball.y then would he do a "rivaldo"(ball hits him on the legs n he falls down,hands over his head in anguish,that memorable match against turkey) complaining of pain in his elbow....dead rite u r Mr.Chappell when u say that he has let down the team....the time for ganguly,the quickest run getter of 8000 runs in the history of one day cricket,the prince of kolkata,the man who made steve waugh wait in the kolkata heat for the toss....n last but not the least....THE GUY WHO FRAMED GREG CHAPPELL to leave has arrived.

MAN UTD VS LIVERPOOL
the atmosphere was elctric....the stage was set for a thrilling encounter....but it really turned out to be a rather defensive man utd against a not-so-defensive liverpool who pressed so hard but could not find the back of the net....now,man utd without gabriel heinze r struggling....he is sidelined for the rest of the season!!!!!!!....oh god!! wot do u do sir alex???play richardson that tiny-wheres-he-running-5-foot something richardson?????sir alex,u left out park?????pls,gimme a break....the biggest
flaw for man utd in that game was richardson in the right flank,oh yeah! that ever so weak right flank which beckham occupied....the mid field is not wot it used to be....nistelrooy runs up n down the pitch in search of the ball....no one supplies????paul scholes doesnt penetrate enough....n john o shea passes the ball back to van der sar,safe n sound,but he keeps forgetting that the goal is on the other side!!!!!!!a really disappointing performance by man utd.....please sir alex,take out richardson n let park create some space for himself....and sign in a new midfielder of the likes of van bommel from barca,keane is too old!!!!only then can u snatch the premiership from chelsea !!!!

at this point of time i think i should introduce to u my idols or the persons from whom i seek inspiration ....the first person that springs to my mind in undoubtedly the best free kick taker in the world,david beckham....there have been a lotta criticism on him about not performing on the pitch....but he still remains the most sought after player by any club....people might not accept this but this is true....in fact manchester united have not won the premiership since he left(though its only 2 years),but the fact remains that there was an unavoidable void created in the team....he was and still is the best passer of the ball....the pass which bisected two defenders through to ronaldo for a goal is still is vividly clear after almost 2 yrs in my mind....such is the impression he leaves after a game....but probably he saved the best for his last game for man utd and that came against real madrid....he was surprsingly left out on the bench adding to the rift between him n sir alex....real madrid played the best i thought they have ever played....people compared it to the days when de stefano and puskas ran through defences for real....real true to their name(real means royal in spanish),took a commanding 6-3 lead on the aggregate....then in the second half was introduced david beckham....he scored 2 quick goals and the agrregate was 6-5 to real....real players had no answers to his movement....a fact that was later acknowledged by zidane....in the 90th minute,beckham earned a free kick for himself....raul who did not play that match had told later that it was the most tense moment of his career as he sat back n watched the master bend it....fortunately for real the ball missed the poles by a whisker....
the game ended and after the season,it was clear that beckham was leaving....leaving man utd and his father figure,sir alex who nurtured his football skills as a youg player in the man utd youth team and was probably the most instrumental person in shaping up his career....three clubs were pressing for him....ac milan,barcelona,real....real president fiorentino perez played the waiting game....after milan n barca let go their desire to sign him s they cld not afford the price,real opened the doors for him for a record transfer....a day later fiorentino perez called his assistant who was pressing him to sign bekham for a long,lomg time and said "congratulations,sunshine"....the great beckham had joined the great real madrid team and was now a part of the "galacticos" as they would call.

ENGLAND WON THE AHSES????????
while i try n cope up with the catastrophy that occured yesterday(england winning the ashes).....i would like to sum up the series.....
man of the series:aleem dar
player of the series:weather

aleem dar according to me is the player of the series for his 2 wonderful decisions in the fourth test that turned the tide in favour of england.....but for his decision...australia would have won the series....u dont often see an animated simon katich who was hit way above his knee roll n was given out.....now if he had stayed there,australia would have,god knows added another 50 runs,enough to bowl out england......so i still maintain that australia is the best side in the world....they will retain the ashes in 2007.

ITS AUSTRALIA VS ENGLAND FOR THE ASHES

glenn mc.grath seeing off harmison in the dying moments of the 3rd ashes test .......u must be kidding.......who would have thought the ashes would unveil itself in such a manner that channels involved in broadcasting would make fortunes,fortunes that the owner of the kohinoor diamond would envy..........( by the by who owns the kohinoor diamond??trivia)......people in england are talking cricket it seems,day n night ,so much so that they forget crespo scoring a 93rd minute injury time goal.............is this the england we knew which over the years has gone gaga over chelsea............

billy plays robin hood........

billy bowden reportedly went and asked geraint jones for the ball after the 2nd ashes so he could keep it as a souveneir.............so u cannot brand him as robin hood...but he ultimately had to hand the ball over to the authorities who claimed they had to have it as a souveneir........bad luck billy,u could always try for the stumps!!!!!!!!!!

as i try n figure out wot i wanna do with life,i would like to unveil my interests to you,they are a wide range of activities like eating,sleeping(wot more u like to do with life?)............n ofcourse surfing the net............going to college is my past time(but my attendance wld be above 90%),nevermind,i think im actually departing from wot i wanted to say.......so i will keep my "mokkai" out of the cards for some time..........

so,all those anti man utd guys please "stay away from my blog" as ur in for some anti "ur club" comments here...........tomorrow is a big day,"super saturday" with man utd taking on everton at goodison park.............edwin van der sar should do a commendable job and i predict he will be the best goalkeeper in the premieship this year.................rooney,ronaldo n nistelrooy will showcase their adroitness to an extent that the everton playes r gonna rub their faces in despair in the centre.............final score will be 4-0 to man utd,arsenal,chelsea will only be a harbinger to everton

i get on this college bus at 6.45 in the morning,get back at 5.15.4 yrs 24*7 and i have finished my graduation!!!!!!!!gr8 achievement?(pat on the back).......i get a job and earn a decent salary!!!!!!!
